Antique 1829 Swedish Mora Clock from Leksand – Extremely Rare Single-Hand Original – Rosmålning Folk Art – 225 cm

This clock retains its original glass, original brass hand, original pendulum, and original weights.
Pieces in this complete and untouched condition are extremely rare, even in Sweden.

This exceptional Swedish Mora clock originates from Leksand in Dalarna and represents an outstanding example of early 19th-century Scandinavian craftsmanship. The case preserves its original hand-painted rosmålning decoration, kept in excellent condition with vibrant colors, clear floral motifs, and authentic patina. The paint is dated 1829 on the body — an exceptionally desirable and seldom-seen detail.

The clock features its original brass pointer, crafted in the early 19th century and characteristic of rare single-hand Mora clocks. This type of single-hand mechanism is found only on early examples and is highly sought after by collectors.

It also retains its original 19th-century mechanical movement, untested, with the traditional single-hand design, a rare early configuration.

At the lower section of the case, there is minor wood swelling and some lifting of the original paint. This is completely normal for a nearly 200-year-old, untouched, original-painted pinewood piece and further confirms its authenticity — it has never been restored or repainted.
