A charming and delicately worked piece of Swedish folk art, this vintage cross-stitch wall hanging depicts a lush bouquet of garden flowers — white daisies, pink roses, blue cornflowers and golden blooms — spilling from a terracotta and amber watering can. The composition is set against a grid-patterned linen ground framed by a decorative border of diamond and chevron motifs in brown and amber, evoking the warmth of a sunlit cottage window.
The piece is finished with a generous cream fringe along the bottom and is presented on its original black wrought iron hanging rod with a decorative scrollwork top — ready to hang straight from the wall. The fine cross-stitch work on the open-weave linen ground gives the piece an airy, light quality that suits both traditional and Scandinavian modern interiors.
